February Newsletter

Good Morning to you all, I hope you are all well, grab a cuppa and have a read up on what is happening here at Fabric Sauce. We have had a busy month so far, our first day for the month was our Farmers Wife Quilt a long group.  It was a very hot day and it just didn't feel as though the air conditioning was working, until you stepped out side!!!!.  At least we have had a little change in the weather and have had a slightly milder week. We are seeing some fantastic progress so far and it was lovely to see some of them layed out on the floor. It is very exciting to see the quilts starting to come together and they will all look so so different.  It's not to late if you would like to join us!  You will be able to see some of the blocks on our hashtag on instagram #fsfw2019qal.  Although not everyone is posting, I will try and get some more catch up photos for the hashtag next Farmers Wife Day in March. This past week has been bag making week, where we have tackled the Take A Stand Bag by patterns by Annie.  The days were big but the bags all looked amazing!  I didn't manage to get photos of them all, but here are a couple that were all but finished you can check out my Instagram feed for some more pics if you like. Next month is Running with Scissors month so please let me know if you are interested in this class as well as it is almost booked out My sit and stitch day will also be this Thursday where you can come and have a chat, cuppa and slow stitch for the day.  Let me know if you would like to attend. Now for the most exciting news for the Shop we have a visiting Tutor coming in March.  Lynne Wilson will be in the shop for a one day workshop and you can choose which ever day will suit you better.  Lynne  has a wealth of experience being involved in the patchwork industry for years, she used to own Berrima Patchwork and is the XLN Fabics Rep for our area as well.  Lynne is known for her bold colour choices and will encourage you to make these choices during your class. Lynne has also just released her patterns into the US which is quite exciting for her.  She is a hard lady to tie down between trips to the US and visiting fabric stores all across NSW.  But she will be here at Fabric Sauce on the 29th & 30th March.  How exciting for us. She will be teaching a strip day which includes many of her patterns of which you can choose to make.  Some of those include the Origami Pleated Log Cabin, Gypsy Pillow, Chevron Pillows and Everyday Tote.  I will get back to you later with your exact class requirements.  The strip day aims to bust your stash by using 2.5 inch strips! So please RSVP to me if you would like to attend one of Lynne’s Classes.  The class will be one day only and please nominate which day would suit you better the Friday or Saturday.  I will need a security deposit to secure your place in the class.  You will need to bring your machine so I am limiting each class to 8 at this stage, so please RSVP quickly as expect these classes to fill fast.  The cost of the 1 day class will be $100.00. We have received some fabulous new stock in this month so be sure to check out the new products page on our website.  Don't forget the Sale Page as well as I am constantly moving stock over there to make room for all the new stock in the shop.  It really is incredible how you have the most favourite fabric and then something else arrives and you all of a sudden have a new favourite fabric.  I guess that is how my fabric addiction works!!! Have a great month and I will talk to you again soon. Happy Stitching Mandy PS if your pictures don't load via email you can always read the blog post underneath.
